28 October 2011

well, i finally got my first chance ever to go to the ER. woo woo! I
was dead set on trying rock climbing last night, and Richard, being the gracious and humble man that he is, took me along and showed me the ropes.
I hopped on the wall and made it about halfway, got scared, and jumped down. They have big comfy foam mats that you land on so it was a nice fall...
I was determined to get to the top, so after watching Richard climb for a moment, i hopped back on the wall.
i made it to the top and was so excited! i started to climb down, but thought "just jump, you'll be fine" it was only about a 5 foot drop. I landed on the mat and felt a crunch in my right ankle...
i stood up and tried to shake it off, i thought i was going to be fine, but knew i was done climbing for the night. i retired to the bench and watched all the climbers (those people are hard core, however they really need to do something about the potent sweaty feet smell in there..just saying) after watching it become more and more swollen, i decided the next visit for the night would have to be the hospital.
richard was such a trooper, kept me laughing and happy all night...wheeled me in the wheel chair and stayed with me through everything. on the way to the hospital, i was laughing and lamenting to Richard how upset I was only because i wouldn't be able to wear my black leather boots! He sympathized with me and told me not to worry cause i had many other cute shoes, i would survive...
muzz was so awesome too. i told her i was headed to st. marks via text (bad mistake) and she text me back saying...
"are you joking"
surprisingly, she was very calm and didnt freak out...today, she is playing nurse to my grandmother and i.
i love her so much and thank her for waiting on me hand and foot!
my dad is out of town, but i appreciated his supportive phone call while sitting in the ER. besides being concerned about my ankle, he was also worried that i at least had some fun...which, indeed i did.
i got to talk to Debbie Snow too, who understood completley where i was coming from about my whole boot situation! great minds think alike. thanks for lifting my spirits Debbie!

disclaimer: these pictures are gnar. i can't believe i am actually posting them but heck you need to get the full effect. look if you dare.

looking real cute in the ER.

my leg and ankle are huge, but i've got a cute blue brace...didn't come in purple unfortunately
WARNING: this one is the worst

my toes repulse me. not even photo shop could help this photo

i am on crutches for however long i need them AND the worst part...
I CAN'T RIDE FOR AT LEAST TWO MONTHS.
agony.
the crutches are seriously cramping my style but i think i will catch on. school is the only part that i am really worried about. hopping around westminster...wonderful. i am lucky that i have the weekend to get some rest and catch on to those sexy crutches.
however, i really shouldn't be complaining about all this nonsense, it could have been so much worse. i think everyone, including the doc, was surprised that it wasn't broken.

thanks again to my muzz and sweet Richard for helping me out.

i hope y'all have a lovely weekend.
xoxo
