i think i forgot over the winter just how much i really do love, love, LOVE horse shows. everything about them {despite the crazy early mornings} i just can't get enough of them. it helps when you have two of the most amazing horses who constantly try their hardest, are so sweet, and aim to please whenever they can. i just can't even put into words the love i have for them. even better? when you have an awesome trainer who pushes you to your greatest potential (including your horse) and great friends who are constantly making you laugh, giving you advice, support, and telling you to calm down when you seem to be just a little too uptight for your own good.
wednesday was prep day. had two great lessons and couldn't wait to show thursday. i even got so excited that i took a leap of faith and entered myself in the "open trainer class" .... i was feeling confident
until,
thursday afternoon when i had a very, shall we say, not so pretty lesson on bambi and immediately felt my nerves kick in with spaghetti limbs and all. i suddenly started to dread my upcoming classes later that evening and became a ball of nerves.
eventually, i managed to pull myself together and calm down. after getting on bambi, warming up, and a quick pep chat from priscilla, i managed to enter my open trainer class and feel at ease. i felt a flood of excitement and soon realized how much i had so immensely missed showing since last September.
surprise surprise.
ms. bambi pulled through and we took the class by storm
and not to toot my own horn, but it was an amazing ride and i felt so proud of her and myself!
priscilla just about shattered everyone's eardrums with her screaming when they called my number for first place...Winning! my victory pass has never felt so sweet.
it was the greatest feeling and
i couldn't have been any more proud of my bam.
from there on out, the classes since then have seemed to fall together, pieces have taken there place, the trust is finally there and all my hard work and tears seem to be paying off.
Richard and Zach came to watch thursday night which i absolutely loved! it's always fun to have spectators cheering you on.
i can't even tell you how many people came up to me
saying what a cute fiance i have and admiring my bling bling saying "oh...he's a keeper..."
(i'd say so myself...)
Storm and i have also been doing really well too. We've won all of our classes except one where we took second.
i am proud of him
he's always a trooper and one of the easiest horses i have ever had the pleasure of riding.
granted, he can be sassy but so easy going and laid back. he's just along for the ride.
.getting pretty for his class.
one of the best parts of shows are the wonderful friends that you get to spend time with. including this pretty girl below, Lizzy. She rode her brand new horse, Tess, and did awesome! She won her western medal class on jewel and kicked some serious booty. way to go my petite olive!
i also got to wear my new cowboy boots (they loooked new for about 10 minutes)
yeehaw
not so much anymore
lizzy slept on my lap....long days
bambi observed
and smiles were had
twas a great show.
thanks to everyone
including my parents, trainers, richard, zach & his momma, friends and of course storm and bambi
<3
xoxo
