very nice boy, halloween, appreciation, lacrosse, crutches

call me crazy, but this had to of been one of the best weekends my October had seen, even with crutches. y{up, still wobbling around on those beauties, don't worry i will spare you the pictures this time}
my blogging duties have taken a back seat this week, so i must play catch up.

it all started wednesday when Richard and I visited the temple. Afterwards, we decided to grab some dinner at Mountain City and indulge in chinese food. Sue, the cute little owner, has to be one of the nicest ladies i have ever met (and has a serious crush on Richard, but i can't blame her) she spoiled us with egg drop soup and extra refills for the man.

She kept telling me, "Nice boy..he a very nice boy. You keep him around."
She gave me run for my money and in Richard's words..."Game on, Lexie."
Bless little Sue's heart.
She treated us well, nagged Richard to eat all of his vegetables, and sent us home with LOTS of fortune cookies.

Thursday...no commmet. (I still can't thank Richard and Muzz enough though, they were troopers)
On friday, I spent most of the day in bed but come 4 o'clock I was sitting in the stands at Westminster watching Richard's lacrosse game. they put up a good fight against BYU but unfortunately, lost. Afterwards, I attended his lacrosse banquet and soon after, we made our way over to Zach's house for a group date night. We carved pumpkins, had chili in bread bowls, and a movie made our friday night complete. Whoever knew that i was dating such a creative pumpkin carving man...
after we finished the front of the pumpkin, he turned it around and diligently started carving more. i just let him do his thing...and to my surprise...he carved the cutest thing i had ever seen. (the picture doesn't do it justice)
meticulously, he had carved an "R + L" into the pumpkin with a heart AND and arrow through it...i hope you are "awwwweeing" right now, because i was.

the front of our pumpkin on the far left...cute little guy with crooked teeth
(posing for pics with crutches is quite the task, no idea what we are doing)

R + L
toooo precious.

Saturday morning, the cousin's and I, surprised my Grandpa and took him to breakfast at Finn's Diner (followed by drinks at 7-11, as is tradition.) It's always a momentous occasion when we can all get together, laugh and have a good time. We rarely get to see each other because of our crazy schedules...but when we do, we pick up right where we left off, being the same obnoxious and inappropriate people that we are. Russell's are winners, i tell ya.
We got to visit with our Grandma afterwards, who is finally home from the hospital...soo glad you are finally feeling better Grandma!!!

Later, Sammie and Phil invited Richard and I over for a movie outside and fire. It was a great time and so nice to see them! Sunday was a usual Sunday with church, relaxation and enjoying dinner with the Snow's.

Besides getting around on campus, Monday wasn't all that bad. Trekking through the buildings and trying to get around Westminster is a chore, but hopefully not too much longer. My whole body aches from the crutches but i am slowly starting to put a little weight on my foot. It's crazy the things that you take for granted. like being able to clean your room or getting in and out of the shower. i will forever love my ankles (when they are both in working condition) and be sympathetic towards anyone who has to use crutches. they are the pits. however, i have finally got the hang of them and much more steady....the first couple days was sketchy.

Halloween night, I joined the Snow's at Log Haven up Millcreek for their Halloween celebration. I loved the atmosphere and the food was divine. Richard and I went as corpse bride/gravedigger...It was quite the experience trying to find a Halloween costume but as always, Muzz was great and carted me around to try and find the perfect bride dress. She spray painted my veil silver, but i refused to paint my face white...i'd have zits for the rest of my life. ha ha
JR and Laura went as Marilyn Monroe and JFK. They were a hot item and we all enjoyed dinner together.

my dad's costume made my night... some of his little primary kids came to visit him
and being the man that he is, somehow came up with this classy costume....

pretty good weekend eh? i would say so.
many thanks to everyone who has helped me and carted me around. not to mention, put up with my sass.
AND huge thank you to SHELBY AND LIZZY for coming to visit me. it was so nice to see your pretty faces, you lifted my spirits! tonight, Richard got us tickets to the THRICE concert, which i was super excited for (i am slowly starting to really like their music..i was skeptical at first) but now, i am mega bummed. there is no way i'd survive a mosh pit. haha can you imagine? his friend Neil is taking my spot, and Sammie/Phil will be there too (much to our surprise, we had no idea they were going too!)

hope that everyone had a fun and happy halloween weekend.
love to all
xoxo
