(ahh doesn't that make you smile??)
cause it made us beam
what a wonderful day it has turned out to be and i am so thankful for the
opportunity to be showing here! it has finally hit me and i couldn't be more thrilled.
i have worked hard to get here and was able to get enough points to qualify and bring storm (bambi should be here, but bambi is bambi, and had to have an attitude about life at the last minute) I do miss her and wish that she could be here, but thankfully, there are many more shows.
Storm arrived on sunday afternoon and my mom and i flew in this morning. the airport, just as always, provided for some prime people watching. I slept for most of the flight which was nice cause that rarely happens (i am not the greatest flyer)
once we arrived, we got settled in at the hotel, had lunch, and took a taxi over to the show grounds.
(this was a new experience for me...first time ever being in a taxi. and probably my last. need i say more)
The show grounds aren't huge but the arena is simply amazing. now, most people wont understand why this arena is so cool, (or understand any of this crazy horse shenanigans) but compared to the ones in UTAH, it is rad! As I rode in on my noble steed for my lesson, I was flabbergasted and frankly, overwhelmed. The first two laps i was so frazzled!! I could barely ride, let alone think. I believe I gave my trainer, Priscilla, a slight heart attack......she eventually realized I was a tad overwhelmed & cut me some slack. As I was riding, I got a little choked up. I finally realized I was at a regional level show...with the big boys. all the tears, hard work, and countless hours at the barn, finally had paid off. this was the moment I had been waiting for (i can't even imagine what thursday will be like when i actually get to compete) and by golly, i am going to enjoy every moment.
a little piece of heaven

only at a horse show do you get life size posters of cowboysss on DOORS no less
yeehaww
Later, the whole team went to dinner at an Italian restaurant. We only have 4 of the girls here, so its a pretty small crew compared to the normal 8-10 that we usually have. Were all still having a blast, despite the small numbers. I am excited to see what tomorrow brings!!! I have a lesson in the afternoon and maybe squeeze in some shopping (surprise surprise)
